Weaving Dilemma
May. 4th, 2010 11:35 pmI've decided the next project on the bit loom is going to use the purple and teal yarn that I got at the garage sale when my parents were visiting. It is to irregular for me to want to use as the warp threads, but it should be fine as the weft threads. To do the pattern in my head I want to use the same two colors in the warp, though. But what type of thread? I've narrowed it down to three options:
1)3/2 cotton - shiny, but have to buy
2)Carpet warp cotton - not shiny, but I already own a matching purple. Cheap.
3)Cotton flake - nubby, so more irregularity and can be a pain when dressing the loom. However, suitable purple and teal came with the loom and I've been wanting to play with. Could play with texture and use as weft with options 1&2.
Thoughts?
