My ability to waste time is always just better than the amount of time I have to waste. I really should be focused on grad school more. Really. Instead, I read slashdot, and half start random projects. But at least the chocolate was tasty.

Yesterday's stress was for the emergency dispatcher job I had applied for. It was not an interview, just testing. I guess they are really trying to hire people who can do the job, not just sound good in interview. Which might be useful, if I can do the job. Thanks for all the reassurance of my brilliance, but I'll admit it is spotty. And much of it I blame on the early programming/training from my sister and my folks. Such as mapreading. I can be dropped down in a strange country with a sketchy tourist map and make my way to where I am staying, and thus can easily pick out the correct directions in a multiple choice question using a completely detailed 20 block map. Remember a seven digit number that I hear once for 10 seconds is apparently beyond me though. And I realize that using the phonetic alphabet adds the critical time for me get down long alphanumeric strings. At least I can roughly spell. So I am hoping to hear back from them Friday or Monday for a job interview. I also got an information packet that answers a lot of the questions I had about the mechanics of the job. Though I feel a little bad, because I am planning on grad school.

Currently investigating photo album software. I might try posting a link to various pictures of my doings.

Dispatching(what I understand from Anna)is reacting appropriately under stress, remembering details and multitasking. For someone who was stationed on a ship, in the middle of a war and shooting tomahawk missiles at the enemy, should not be difficult. That was a long run on sentence!!!

That's what I'm hoping they'll think. And they don't realize shooting Tomahawks (especially if all you are responsible for is the missile inventory when they're done) is not stressful. Watching the media guy climb all over the windowsill on the bridge in front of the captain's chair is hilarious though.

Barb has a site that she has been posting her pictures that seems to work very well. Of course, I can't remember the site. Mom

the site is http://www.imagestation.com
yeah it works well - just upload your pictures and create an album. I've done it three times. I think I deleted one of them already. Then you can create an email list to notify who you want to look at it.
