Goodbye, Sweetie

Today I had to say goodbye to my sweet Lju (see icon). Last of the my initial cohort of kitties from picked up in early adulthood, we'd gotten to share 16 years together. She's had multiple medical issues (thyroid and sinus) issues for 2 or so years, and had been having more trouble walking this last month, so it wasn't a surprise. Note - don't name the cat partially because you think making the vet techs figure out the slavic J is funny (though they had started to ask and not just refer to her as the younger female cat like they did when she was the younger female cat), she'll be the one who has to go in the most (scratching herself bloody with allergies, eating something wrong in addition to the previously mentioned). But she was the one who made it clear she was my cat, not Lawnchairs (even though he's the one who fed her gooshy food the last few years). I'm glad that I reached out and started grabbing her for cuddles, even when she was staying away because she didn't feel good (so cuddle the ones you love).
