Weaving and Cheese
Oct. 16th, 2011 06:17 pmForgot about the trial run for the cheesecast, so was summoned from the tub to BS for an hour over Skype. And ordered cheese!
Started weaving. First I played around with packing. I ended up putting 10 marks per inch on my weaving tape (a length of twill with measurements so I weave the correct length and weft per inch). Found out that the reed and my homespun wool yarn did not agree when I found a bunch of pills behind the reed causing uneven tension. Thought about it for a while and decided I needed a comb. And ended up checking my spare tools bin and finding a tapestry beater. It worked much better, though I ended up patching two weft threads that had taken to much damage already. Well, I wanted a learning project. And it looks handmade. I have to remember to use the first length as the back gusset.
Don't want to go to work. The good news is I suspect Friday will be a short day. Bad news is that Monday, Tuesday and Thursday probably won't be.
