Step by Step, Day by Day

Is how you move on. Mostly I'm trying to be the most unobtrusive support possible. We've gotten the obit in the paper, and the memorial planned for Saturday. Lawnchair has been sorting through money and health paperwork for his mother (fighting cancer has left her tired), while I've been alternating between internet surfing and cleaning. A lot of internet surfing, as cleaning a house not your own is always fraught.

Thank goodness for the internet. My FiL was a chatty man with endless hobbies/interests, and I don't think we could have tracked down half the people he knew. There's got to be a couple of hundred condolences on his facebook alone. And it saves Lawnchair from a number of calls, as sympathy from others is reliably making him tear up.

I got a call from future boss - I start next Monday. They were willing to give me more time off, but I'm excited to start and will be back in Lawrence.
