Heat from Fire

Probably should have cured it earlier, but finally set a fire in the insert. We've got a window open to draw out the fumes, but it is damn warm right right in front of the thing. And flames are attention grabbing.

Adulthood Skill #47 - Cooking with Condiments

Hungry because someone ate my leftover fried chicken thigh while I was out. Before catastrophic hunger failure, I remembered that we had two uncooked chicken thighs that should probably be used. But I had no plans! So out came the baking dish and in it were placed the two thighs. Opened up the fridge and started hunting through the oddments in the door. Hoisin sauce, peanut sauce, jarred garlic, and sake went over the chicken. In the oven at 400 for 50 minutes and Lawnchair started rice. I meant to add frozen veggies at 20 minutes in, but I forgot. Chicken was good, sauce was nommy over rice and chicken skin was great.

Now I'm teaching Lawnchair my cookie recipe. I've been promising to make cookies for a while, but haven't felt up to it.
