Unusual Occurance

Car trouble with superbeige car. Yesterday, Lawnchair and I drove down to GB to see his parents. For the last couple of weeks, it has not started on the first try - just sat quietly. However, it would start on the second try. Well, yesterday it didn't start at the last of our stops*. Thankfully, being pararnoid over prepared people (or it was in the trunk when we bought the car), we had jumper cables. And being stuck in small town Kansas, Lawnchair didn't have to ask for any help, just stand around fiddling with the cables.

Then it started to get dark. On a stretch of deserted highway, he turned on the high beams. Somehow, this caused the engine to cut off and all power lost. Happily, car restarted on the shoulder, and we eventually made it to GB**. Car is now at Lawnchair's parents' traditional repair shop. Hopefully it will be fixed by tomorrow.

*Stop one was Best Buy in Topeka so Lawnchair could buy a harness to replace his mother's car radio. Behind the Geek Squad counter was my old friend Dave. As he had a long line of customers I didn't talk to him, but I did wave. Been at least five years.

**Light snow until Salina, then blue skies. Definitely more snow on the ground as we headed south. Roads were fine until we got to GB. Not well plowed.

ETA: Car is back. Was just battery. All good.
