Bad: Lost track of time, didn't get a task finished and had to hurry out the house quickly without eating lunch.

Good: Got to strip mall early, so I stopped by Hancock Fabrics. Found the color velveteen eventually (had been moved back out the clearance section), and bought the rest of the bolt (4.5 yards). It turned out to been even further on sale, so got it for $2.76/yard. I still need to find more of this color, but this helps.

Bad: Missed the call that my appointment was canceled due to the nurse being hurt. Rescheduled for tomorrow lunch.

Good: Had time for Taco Johns before class.

Bad: Lju is going to the vet. Her back hurts. Or rather, she turns around and meows whenever we touch her back. At first it was whenever we scratched it, but now she meows (and it is a pitiful meow) if we just pet her. I suspect it has something to do with her allergies or the fact she can't groom well back there. I never get the third degree from my doctor about loosing weight (as I never go to the doctor), but I do get it from the vet.

Good: Lju is playing in the pet carrier, so it might be a bit easier to get her in it.

ETA: As expected, Lju has fleas and is to fat to clean her butt. Got flea killer for all four cats (got Grep's as a free sample). And get back to trying to get her on a diet.

So my next big costume project is Tudor, partially because I've talked some friends into making some with me/helping me. We're taking our time, doing all the layers. Sunday was research, and next meeting will be shifts/chemises/smocks (underwear).

First decision is about color. Yesterday's research leads me to believe most dress were red with orange/gold or black. Sadly, I want to wear this dress in the summer. Black soaks up radiation and red brings out my easily flushing skin tone. So dress won't be historical colors.

I have some nice blueish/greyish brown velvet like upholstery fabric that has been hiding in the stash forever. I love it. This winter I found some brocade of a matching brown with green flowers. I finished out the bolt. I need to go to JoAnne's for more. Today's velveteen is the same brown (so I need to hit other Hancock's to see if they have more). I also have silk dupoini in the same green as the brocade - will probably be the base for decoration/trim.

I'm planning on making my chemise, petticoat and kirtle all out of linen (summer, again). Petticoats were usually red. Even if it is completely covered, I'm scared of red. Thankfully, I have two large pieces of linen in "willow". Close enough to the green in the brocade that my color matching heart is happy.

I started looking at the patterns in the Tudor Tailor book. I'm actually close to the measurements they use for the patterns - except in the waist. Five inches extra on my waist. Damn belly fat.
