Maybe I'll be Happy In the Morning

Ivan was hit by a car tonight.

Ivan is the sweet cat who has been trying to adopt us. We've been feeding him, but not letting him in the house (Barry is threatened by Ivan). He was pushy, swatting us if we didn't do what he wanted, like have a lap for pettings or feed him. Not that we were the only house around feeding him. I had been asking around for homes for him, but nobody could. And I doubt he would have been happy being in the house all the time. But I'm kicking myself for not taking him to the shelter (Lawrence's shelter is no-kill).

But he didn't make it that far. Neighbors saw it. They knew I'd taken to feeding him, so they came by to tell me. I petted him one last time, but he was already gone.
