Friday I dragged ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
lawnchair out to rural Kansas to watch for meteors. Saw a few good ones before the moon rose. Of the many people who drove past our random patch of dirt road, only one asked what we were doing. In a very strong hick accent. Made me realize how much light pollution there is, even here.
Saturday we went shopping by bike. First to the farmer's market, where we got some veggies. I didn't need any more sheep cheese yet, so skipped that. There is another place that sells specialty cheeses and spreads, but they're a little expensive.
From the market, we biked to lots of garages sales. Apparently, the Centenial neighborhood (Mass to Naismith, 19th to 23rd) had a organized "we're all selling today", it was consolidated. Many people commented on our method of getting around, and the bike trailer. But it keeps us honest (as I did not walk off with a "Ceremonial Chinese warrior helmet", even though it was tempting). For about five bucks I got: fins, snorkel mask, two snorkels, two necklaces for beads, four earbands (to keep my ears warm while wearing my bike helmet), pink silk long johns with runs, a silk robe with a bad dragon embroidered on the back, and a funky faux ivory mug held up by elephants. Not to bad. I would have bought more sacrificial jewelry, but the woman wanted to much, in my opinion.
In the afternoon,lawnchair's 'rents stopped by on their way home from New Foundland. They have gotten the habit of making a trip for music festivals there every summer. They were slightly delirous from lack of sleep, but I have another two small bottles of rum. Hmm..
Now I'm waiting for my cornbread muffins to finish cooking. We made another grocery run, and working on stocking up our grey cabinet. So as I brought in the groceries, it got a through sorting. Quite a bit of food, but that pleases me. I could keep eating, even if the money ran out. Maybe I'll heat up some soup to go with my muffins.
