Hungry for Thai tofu curry, Tom? I am.

Soon. Taking off tomorrow for the long drive to Hastings. Ok, we'll end up exploring the Little Apple some, and camping at Glen Elder. And somehow amusing ourselves until 2 the next night. It might even involve the world's largest ball of twine (a disputed position, see Drop Dead Gorgeous for insights).

I love packing. Got my various travel sized thingies, and even bought bottles to fill up (couldn't find small bottles of sunscreen and aloe gel, both of which I'll need if I'm camping any). Hunted up various tolietries bags, to keep things sorted. Borrowed various stuff from Tom, including his mini-tent (only five feet long) and foldy cooler. Washed all my thongs and tank tops (hey, they pack small). Downloaded free e-books and music. I'm taking my PDA with wireless card, and a couple of the hostels I'm staying at have free wireless, so expect some updates or emails. Cell is also going, though irregular coverage (none in Canada).

I almost bought a tent today. I went to Sunflower to see about small bottles and stuff sacks, and they had a tent I fell in love with. An expensive freestanding one person tent. Exactly what I wanted. So I called Tom to talk me out of it. He suggested some more research, and then go back in the evening. More research told me it was expensive, but a light tent. Found some a little better, but they weren't here. Went back, and could find it. Eventually found the sign (Sunflower has its tents set up upstairs, with little signs explaining the price and stats) in front of fan. So I then pounced on the next salesman I found. My tent had been sold less than half an hour ago. So walked down the the other outdoors store, to see if they had one. Had my best service ever there, mostly because I intrigued the guy. They didn't have any, but he went immediately to looking it up, and agreeing that it was a fine tent. Thankfully, the tent I'm taking isn't anything special, so if I find my tent, I can ditch this one.

And I still have room in my bag. Ok, I'm light one books. One of the guide books I was taking (for Glacier National Park) got a little peed on (Grep does not want to leave her room and face the other cats, though thankfully that seems to be the only thing she got), so it'sn't coming (I love my new contraction).
