In the Company of Men

So yesterday I took a 5 hour nap because I did not feel well. Problem with that is that I could not fall asleep last night. Sat up and talked a bit with a pharmacist from NY who was following the Mets game, but we kept being yet at by one of the women running the place. Really, I know it is hard to believe, but I was whispering. So around six it was light and I was reading in bed. I had talked to a couple of guys last night about when the bus up to Riga was, and sort of had agreed to travel with them. And at six, one of them comes back still drunk and says that they are going to the bus station, and expect to take the 10 bus. Well, as I am still awake, I am ready to go. And we end up on the 7 bus (with five minutes to spare, though one of them covered my bus fare since I was out of lits and it was about $10). So was in Riga by noon. I slept on the ride up, and was able to herd four still drunk guys to the hostel. Sat around with the original two for a while, but it was like being back in the Navy. To much of unregulated boyness. Most of the backpackers in the Baltics are guys, with occasionally married couples. Saw most of the sites of Riga. The hostel is nice, but still setting up and twice the price of Vilnius for less amenities. Might take the noon bus up to Tallinn tomorrow. Or not.

Also, finally at good book karma as I have been given two today. Not sci-fi, but I can not have everything.
