Settling Down, Settling In, Taking Off
May. 7th, 2004 08:38 amWell, I think I found a place that I like. Not terribly big, and I have to find a window air conditioner for it (Everyone please keep your eyes out, I will reimburse). So, I shall have the top floor studio apartment on Tenn in the student ghetto. Well, if the credit check works out. Personally, I think it should because I pay things on time, but.. I have no current job, and my last landlord is a bit hard to get a hold of. At least the place was sold to someone who speaks English. I did provide information for the last local place I rented, but that is three years old. And offered to pay several months in advance.
Ok, I really like the place. Quite a bit cheaper than most of the apartments I looked at yet does have a bathtub. The tub is not for tall people. But its bigger than my last one! Which I affectionately called the deepsink, because even little me had to sit crosslegged in. The walls slope into the ceiling, so I will have to get creative with the furniture arranging.
Saw C&C's farmstead. I am so jealous. C was out moving dirt around when Tom and I pulled up, so he took us for a good tour of the place. A pond and a half for wetlands, a small woods are and great grasslands. The worst weeds I saw were thistles, and I doubt they will last, since C has a long hatred of them from his days as a weed exterminator. Neat thing to me is how it is similar, yet so different from the grasslands at Mom & Dad's place. Most of the same weeds, but many different ones. And the birds sound different. Frogs are frogs though.
Well, off to NC to visit my crazy Marine friend. Looking forward to arguing with him. And hitting states 46 and 47. I'll be down to three to see in the next 9 months.
