affrecaI was a bit more productive today. I called the contact number about the two jobs I applied for, and they have my applications but are still picking out who to interview. Maybe I will get a call. Which further inspired me to promise to really write my resume this weekend, and see if I can convince Tesia to proofread it, Tom doesn't quite get that resumes are the last place you want to be self deprecating.
Then dealt with the car. Got my Kansas drivers license and registered to vote. Well, sort of. See Kansas has gone higher tech with their licenses, so they can't make them onsite anymore. No, you get a printed receipt that acts as your license until you get your real one in the mail. I really want to try to get into a bar with that. Thankfully, I still have my SD one. And I am now a registered Libertarian in the state of Kansas. Starting to actually research Kansas politics. Crazy state. There is not even a Democrat to run against Senator Brownback. Ok. Vote for Steve Rosile, I guess. At least I agree with some of the Lib platform. Brownback scares me. Just look at his views on vital issues of cloning and private money in space exploration. Ok, while that does matter to me, it is his views on social issues that bother me. Marriage especially. This kooky state.
But I have a new license plate (nothing high tech about that, they have stacks of them in the treasurer's office). It was all easier than I expected, with barely any waiting. Especially after the horror stories I heard. Not as convenient as the all in one building of the Clay County courthouse. I might survive becoming a Kansas resident (and I might admit at some point that I more years in Kansas than South Dakota).
