Proof I am a Nerd
Mar. 22nd, 2008 11:29 amSo, one of my favorite anime series is Full Metal Panic. It is half high school comedy, half mecha. There is a lot of random sci-fi trivia in the show. For example, in the first episode, Kaname is carrying "So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish".
One of the armslaves (series name for mecha) is the M9 Gernsback. Odd name. Eventually I realized why it was familiar. Hugo Gernsback, for who the Hugo awards are named after.

The manuscript was found while I was in the process of closing down Gernsback Publications Inc. in 2003. It was apparently written some time in the 1950’s. It covers all the areas that Hugo found interesting: wireless communications, science fiction, publishing, patents, foretelling the future, and much more.

On a completely different note, any word on the availability of your garden tiller for borrowing?
