Unpacking books

affrecaI am very random about my bursts of energy. Some mornings I suddenly realize it is noon and I haven't left the computer, and some mornings I unpack three bookshelves before I even dress. And handle important financial matters while surfing the web (updating addresses with my credit cards).
The kittens have decided that behind the oven is the perfect place to sleep, despite all my efforts to block it off. And books on shelves make great jungle gyms. But they are just to cute to really get annoyed with. I am just glad that they are not human kids though.
Warning, political rant ahead.
Well, this article spooked me (http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/08/25/reservist.lawsuit.ap/index.html). Thankfully the Navy is not involved in stop lose, and I do not know useful foreign languages, but still. I can not figure out what skill this poor guy has that they need him so bad for. And no, they do not tell you that you have to specifically resign at the end of your inactive time, though I sort of figured (heard rumors). I personally think that if the Army is getting short handed enough they need to pull in the inactive guys, they should start talking draft. To wake everyone up about how stretched thin the military is. Invading two countries in three years is not easy, occupying them is harder. Add in the UN missions we still have commitments to (Kosovo, anyone?)... All I am thankful for is that the death rate is relatively slow. Of course, we aren't hearing about the number of people returning seriously injured/disabled. Rant done.
Oh, and my plan to go get my license and registration was derailed by the fact I have to get car insurance first, and the DMV is out in the boonies. Umm.. How are you supposed to get a drivers license when the only thing it is close to is the toll road? Ok, so I do have a current license, and could drive, but I don't want to. Tomorrow I will make a run to drop off empty DVD cases (I store mine in big binders, and don't have the room), pick up some short shelves and swing by the DMV.
