Thanksgiving dinner was at my house this year. A day late, as my sister's family goes to her boy's family's house for the main day every year. My parents and
lawnchair's mother drove here yesterday, necessitating we slept in the library. Woke up early, picked up groceries, and started the bird. Thankfully, I had multiple to ask for advice, as I'd never cooked a turkey before. Could have cooked a bit longer, but it wasn't that pink. Heated up potatoes in the crockpot, cooked stuffing. The biggest hassle was cooking the squash (finished in the microwave), crisp and cornbread muffins (which weren't cooked that well, should have gone with the crescent rolls). Nothing ran out, but not much leftovers. Got a turkey to finish pulling meat off, then boil for stock. Nummy.
Cleaning went well, and had lots of help (sister did most of the dishes). Dessert, then saw everyone off. Now I'm full, sleepy and happy. And I still have two days left of vacation.
