For You, I'll Brave the Christian Store
Aug. 3rd, 2006 01:12 pmBetween the move, and my recent purchases, I have been inspired to sort my beads. For once, it wasn't to difficult, since they stayed realitively sorted despite several moves since I last really played. I rearranged the drawers in my craft table to be wire, findings and thong drawer, seed bead drawer, stone bead drawer and other drawer. Most of the beads are sorted into those fun twisty stacking containers. Not all, some of the ones I got at a garage sale are in the little containers they came in. All my charms are sorted into a floss container, and all the parts jewelry in a tuperware for scavanging. I love looking at colors and textures, in beads and material.
And the sorting inspired me to start a necklace using both beads I've had for a while and new beads. I'm very proud at my wire bending skills to make a clasp for this necklace (so it matches the colors in the necklace). The centerpiece is scavanged from a clip on earring that I've had forever, and I love it. And, so I don't feel guilty about making jewelry I never wear, I'm glad that I know who I'm making it for. I don't have a good reason to make jewelry for Biscuit, but it wants to be hers. Hopefully I'll remember to pack it when I go up for Siege.
